Identification Guide to Marine Mammals in MARLANT Operations Areas.2006

DND, MARLANT, Formation Safety and Environment. Produced, edited, and wrote sections of a bilingual guide to assist naval personnel to identify marine mammals, seals, porpoises, and sea turtles in Eastern Canada.

Manual of Land-Use Planning in the Coastal Zone. Fisheries and Oceans Canada. 2000-2001.

Prepared a review of information on environmental features of coastal areas and approaches used by land use planners and legislators for managing impacts of development in coastal areas.

Eastern Habitat Joint Venture 10-Year Report. 1999.

Produced a 10-year promotional report detailing EHJV's progress in protecting wildlife habitat in Eastern Canada.

Wetlands in the Atlantic Region. Ducks Unlimited Canada. 1997-98.

Wrote and produced brochures on Nova Scotia Dykelands and stream edge habitat (At the Water's Edge), as well as fact sheets describing Nova Scotia wetland types, for schools and the general public.

Nova Scotia Wet Places.1999-2001.

Wrote and produced a series of fact sheets dealing with wetlands and their wildlife in Atlantic Canada. Eastern Habitat Joint Venture.

Energy and the Offshore. CEF Consultants. 1998.

Wrote and illustrated three factsheets dealing with Hydrocarbon Resources; Exploring for Offshore Oil and Gas; and Offshore Production, Storage and Transportation, used for public information in connection with a public review of the moratorium on exploration and development of hydrocarbons on Georges Bank.

Biological and Physical Features of Georges Bank. Fisheries and Oceans Canada. 1997.

Prepared a 16-page background summary of the oceanography of Georges Bank, which was distributed at public information sessions for a review of a moratorium on drilling and exploration in the area.

Report on Environmental Effects of the Pesticide Endosulfan. Environment Canada. 1996.

Edited and prepared for publication an in-depth review of the fate and effects of Endosulfan in the environment.

Report on a Study of Dispersal of the Pesticide Imidacloprid. Environment Canada. 1996.

Assembled data and prepared text and graphics for a report on a study of the fate the pesticide Imidacloprid in runoff and freshwater environments.

Environmental Assessment of the Scotian Shelf. Fisheries and Oceans Canada. 1995-1996.

Wrote chapters of an overview publication on the environmental health of coastal and offshore waters of Atlantic Nova Scotia.

Frogwatch '94-'99.

With the Nova Scotia Museum and Clean Nova Scotia Foundation, coordinated and prepared background information materials for an educational project which involved students from Halifax County, Nova Scotia, in observing the awakening and spring calling of an important frog species. The project used a geographic information system (GIS) to provide maps of occurrence of the occurrence of the frogs and to tabulate project results, and in 1995 included a component which allowed students to study the health of wetlands.

Natural History Background and Environmental Review for a Plan to Develop Crescent Beach, Lockeport, Nova Scotia 1993.

Reviewed environmental constraints, assisted in development of interpretive options and natural history themes, and provided advice on beach restoration in a plan for the development of Crescent Beach.

Manual for Community Environmental Planning. Environment Canada, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. 1992-1993.

Wrote and produced sections of Sharing the Challenge, a manual to assist Atlantic coastal communities develop environmental management plans. Funded under Environment Canada's Atlantic Coastal Action Program (ACAP).
